Hey Friends! JJ Here!
If there's one thing you need to know about me, it's this:
I love to CRAFT.
Like really. I feel most alive when my hands are covered in glue and I can't see the table for all the glitter. Anybody else love to peel glue off their hands? Just me?
Crafts are a great way to bring people together. There's something really special about a group of girls getting together and making something pretty. It's fun, builds community, and you get to go home with something that YOU MADE. It's kind of empowering.
Today I am going to give you 3 examples of easy crafts to do with T-Shirts.
Nautical T-Shirt Necklace
Don't these look awesome?! All you need to know is how to braid and how to work a pair of scissors. Click here for great step-by-step instructions. I think I might make one of these this weekend...
Sailor Knot Headband
This is one is slightly more challenging simply because of the knot. Don't worry, there is a video with step-by-step instructions! I think girls will flip out over this. You think? Click here to learn how to make this little beauty.
Braided T-Shirt Necklace
These braided t-shirt necklaces are so cute and simple to make! For these, girls can bring two or three shirts for different color and variety. Personally, I'd wear both of them! Check out this step-by-step tutorial on how to make this cute statement necklace.
Each of these t-shirt crafts will be super fun to make and super fun to wear!
Plan a Crafts & Conversation night with your girls. Do 1 or all of these 3 t-shirt crafts. Ask the girls to clean out their closets and bring their own t-shirts. All you need to do is supply the scissors!
While the girls are crafting you could lead them through some natural guided discussion. Something like this:
This fabric was initially used for t-shirts. But we've changed it around for something totally different. It's function and purpose has changed. But it's still the same fabric. What things in your life have been for the purpose of you that could be used for the purpose of glorifying God? Are there areas in your life like volleyball that have always just been about volleyball or your athletic ability that could become an avenue for you to share how the Lord has gifted you and why you do things for Him to be known instead of yourself? (John 3:30)
A Crafts + Conversation night could be just what your girls or your group of friends need! Let us know if you have a C+C night planned. We'd love to encourage you and hear about how it went!
